Does Carney mention that he was paid by families who oppose the estate tax to conduct a "study" on how life insurance companies benefit? Also should be noted that Kent Conrad and Byron Dorgan are big life insurance recipients -- there's something about North Dakota that attracts the money, probably much more so than the estate tax-related revenue.

Indeed it appears that Mr. Carney co-authored a study http://www.nodeathtax.org/uploads/view/2313/life_insurance_brief.pdf for the American Family Business Institute, which operates nodeathtax.org. He didn't disclose that in the Examiner column.
