School lunches are terrible

Reader comment on: More on McDonald's

My first year teaching in Oakland, CA, school lunch one day - the main dish mind you - was nachos. When I say nachos, I mean Doritos chips smothered in melted Cheeze Whiz. Not only repulsive, but a direct cause of many behavioral issues in classrooms after lunch.

There is no question that school lunches need to be healthier for the sake of health and education. The recent bill pushed by the first lady helps this cause. Of course, healthier often means more expensive. I assume from this post that Future of Capitalism is favor of spending more on healthier school lunches.

The Future of Capitalism replies:

Healthier doesn't have to mean more expensive. Where are the lentil lobbyists when you need them?
