Reader comment on: The Cost of Elite College

Submitted by Lyle (United States), Dec 19, 2010 10:14

The school for the final degree is more important than the school for a lesser degree, i.e. if grad school is involved, then an elite undergrad school is less important, it is the grad or professional school that makes the difference. While there are the few folks who did not need a degree because of drive, they are so much the exception as to be not a useful metric. (how many fell by the wayside during the early 1980s when the PC was invented, and also how many had the luck of having Gary Kiddall go flying rather than talking to IBM).
