Ron Paul is hardly a good defender of capitalism if that is all he can say about regulators. While it is true that markets are self-regulating (which he only alludes to), that is not a fundamental principle. Capitalism, which BTW is a Marxist term, is the social system that protects individual rights. The moral purpose of government is to secure our rights, not to violate them through regulation. A proper, principled defense of capitalism calls for laissez-faire, i.e., separation of economy and state.
