By your rationale, NYT has no right to criticize any company for falling sales. If that's true, how can they even operate a business section at all? The reporter is doing his job, reporting the facts, and facts should not be restrained by the financial well-being of the company the reporter works for.

Sears is struggling. It may not be struggling as bad as this reporter indicates, but it is struggling and that's a fact.
