Are you really comparing junk food to reading a high quality newspaper? The NYT is marketing to teachers, not directly to children and they aren't offering toys in exchange for consuming their content. NYT content makes kids smarter. You might disagree with NYT's politics, but no one would argue that practicing reading the newspaper and discussing current events is bad for kids.

There are many reasons to object to the idea of banning happy meals. This analogy isn't one of them.
