Sloppy Criticism of the Times Doesn't Cut It

Reader comment on: 'New Consensus'

Submitted by John Sansone (United States), Dec 2, 2009 21:48

I guess if you see your role as calling out the New York Times for "ridiculous" reporting, you have to be willing to take the same medicine. The Times was reporting on a consensus of polled economists, including conservatives. That's a factual matter, whether or not the consensus is correct. If you are disputing the alleged consensus, tell us what your sources are. And as for your slap at Moodys as a disreputable source, you are either confused or disingenuous -- it wasn't the old ratings agency the Times was quoting, it was Mark Zandi of Moodys.com, a quite reputable non-partisan source. You may disagree with him, but his opinions are hardly ridiculous. The rest of your quotes and comments are taken out of context and are unrelated to the Times article although you fail to so indicate.
