Various tests can either be ordered and paid for directly saving up to 50% over the hospital price or mail in. prices range up to 50% off. In addition screenings are often offered by hospitals at significant price reductions. All of these are cash on the barrel head, so there is no long delay in the provider getting paid. Search for self ordered lab tests. Naturally some members of the physicians guild object, but the solution is to ask the physician what he recommends and then order the tests yourself. Of course you will pay and not get reimbursed, the cost will be much less, and depending on the size of your deductible you can save money.
