I wish folks in my party would just "Man-up" & admit we made a few mistakes. In our zeal to tear-down what appeared to be artificial barriers to commerce, we removed safeguards to the system writ-large. Those of us that lived through the "reset" of the American economy in the 70s & 80s remember how long it took to get the nation back on its feet. I dare say that it took until the middle of the Clinton administration before the benefits of the Reagan years of austerity became evident. I also noticed no one mentioned stock manipulations nor the manipulators. When did the party or conservatives in general abandon the "Law & Order" moniker? I think I feel the same way Greenspan does now, who in their right mind would believe these CEOs would knowingly put their companies in jeopardy? I remain optimistic that business will begin to apply the same creativity that gave us the alphabet soup of risk, to fixing problems, that after all is the business we're all in.
