The stimulus was opposed by so many Republican governors and legislators and yet accepted by them. Sound familiar.

And yes, President Bush starting messing up the economy with his enormous tax breaks for the rich in 2001, so giving Obama that amount of time to dig us out of this hole seems fair.

And internet connectivity? Your argument would be like FDR saying rural communities don't need electricity because Thomas Edison was an American. . . Where is the logic? To function in today's economy, people need broadband access. This is a public good the government should provide, much like interstate highways.
