Money buys influence either in the old days as direct bribes (best legislature money can buy...) or today in more disguised ways. Always had always will. The only way would be to outlaw all lobbying and repeal the first amendment on petitioning for redress of grievances, because crony capitalism is covered in this. So it ranges from local government tax packages on up. Today one has to be more creative in the buying of influence than in the old days but it is still for sale and always will be. Trying to fix this is really just wacking one idea and a new idea pops up. Of course in the bad old days you also had collaborative capitalism espoused by JP Morgan that companies should just divide up the market because it was more efficient that way, or alternatively as with US Steel merge them all into one company.
