Why excise union members and families?

Aren't union members people too? Aren't they Americans? Why should we take them out of a poll? That would be like polling on race relations and taking out the black people because they are biased.

I'm just saying including the public sector union members in a poll headlined "Public backs public sector union members" skews the results, or at the very least is tautological.
