ObamaCare: Insurance Not

Reader comment on: Dallas Fed on ObamaCare

The delightfully named Jason Saving warns that the cost savings promised by ObamaCare are illusory. Fair enough. Would be though that someone (besides me) point out that ObamaCare is not insurance.

"Insurance" is a stolen concept as used in the government sense. Insurance is the term for a contractual arrangement between private parties, entered into voluntarily by both parties, with the purpose of spreading risk.

ObamaCare is a government program in the nature of a wealth-transfer or welfare program, for which participation is compelled by force.

If truth in packaging laws were made to apply to legislation, Americans would be far better off.
