I think -- and I say *I think* -- the Journal number is the income *greater than $100,000* for all those who earned more than $100,000. In other words, their number would exclude (#filers AGI>$100,000 * $100,000).

Those of you with access to the data can verify for me. But it does bother me that the WSJ would choose a year that best suits their argument. Let's take the average of the past ten years or some moving average.
