Statistical approach

Reader comment on: NPR on the Degree-Less

The comment about the median statistics is valid and one very limited perspective on the whole picture. While such a statistical view has some use, it can also be fundamentally misleading since none of us out there in the world are statistics. We are individuals, and so it is reasonable to make decisions about our life trajectory based on our individual strengths, weaknesses and needs rather than some statistical mean. That is what those men did. Presumably if they had followed Lyle, they would be college grads, and may or *may not* have ever done what they did so well.

And just to add one more guy, to the editor's list, who dropped out and was just featured in a major newspaper because of his multi-billionaire and non-degree status: Richard Branson of Virgin.
