It doesn't really matter whose comment it is from the GOP, whether from Romney or Ryan, one thing is clear: Medicare and national health care are safe for the foreseeable future. Mitt Romney has already made it clear that he thinks 'RomneyCare' is a proper and just solution; he is just insisting that Universal Health Coverage should be taken up with States Rights maneuvering--a position that will likely become more popular with the rank and file, leading to Romney's great chances at nomination. Likewise, Ryan is affirming the mission and philosophy of Medicare, but is simply trying guarantee its longevity and increase its altruistic goals. Combined in both of these positions is an affirmation and strengthening of the status quo, and, additionally, an acknowledgement that the electorate wants government funded health care.
