It's Still SocialismReader comment on: Andrew Biggs on Means Testing Submitted by Caroline (United States), Jun 28, 2011 21:06 The problem with "means" testing is that it is simply another variation on the same ideology that created Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security: the idea that the government should distribute services to the population based on need, a.k.a. socialism. It is a good time to start attacking the ideas that underlie all the major entitlement programs, and how these programs currently punish productive, hard-working Americans. Debating which tactics can help these programs survive is only the forestalling the inevitable and desirable process of creative destruction.
