Too Socially Conservative

Reader comment on: Kudlow For Senate?

Submitted by Mak (United States), Jan 26, 2010 10:29

I think that the problem with Larry Kudlow is that while he might be a capitalist and for free markets, he is also very socially conservative (he happens to be a religious convert to Catholicism) and doesn't seem to me to be the ideal challenger to Schumer whom I think can definitely be beaten by somebody who is a supporter of both free markets and laissez faire social policy. I don't really get the sense that Kudlow feels as passionately about social issues as he does economics, so perhaps he might be able to moderate his opposition to gay marriage -- as Gillenbrand and Schumer have both done when it became politically expedient to do so -- and become a more viable candidate.
