What does Richard Vedder have to say about Defense Spending? What is the statistical increase in that spending between 2006 and 2010? The government spent 28 billion on the Pell Grants. How much did it spend on defense?

It looks like defense spending went to about $700 billion in 2010 from about $550 billion in 2006, excluding veterans affairs and "homeland security."

I don't know what Professor Vedder has to say about it. But I agree that some of the same dynamics apply to military contractors as to federally funded universities.
