This post makes me physically ill. I have heard this argument on multiple occasions on the right, that poor people don't have it bad because of these creature comforts. This is similar to the argument that poor people don't need nutrition programs because they are more likely to be obese. I would ask Thomas Sowell to try to live in poverty for a week and see how great it is before minimizing what living in poverty is like.
