Mr. Koch's statement that what the government spends money on does more harm than good as a reason for not contributing more in in taxes is typical of those that are not good at sharing what they have with those that are needy. Who is he to make that judgement! People in the U.S. are starving and going without proper health care because those like him are too selfish and greedy to share their good fortune. It is simple to blame those that are poor for their own poverty, but it is also mean spirited. If only one out of every ten dollars of our taxes actually is put to good use in feeding the hungry, healing the sick. or clothing the poverty stricken, then it's being put to good use. To withhold your riches from those that are needy, because you don't believe they deserve it is ludicrous and selfish.
