Krugman's "solution"

Reader comment on: Irene, the Economy, and the Deficit

Submitted by John Gillis (United States), Aug 27, 2011 17:14

Krugman, who is the Obama Administration's unofficial economic theorist, would likely tell Obama to sit back and relax in the face of the destruction potential of Hurricane Irene. After all, Krugman believes in the broken window theory of economics, and recently suggested that if we were invaded by space aliens it would be a great boon to the body politic! Disasters of the kind inflicted by Irene (in this fallacious view) are just what we should be praying for. Prosperity and bounty is just around the corner with the reductio ad absurdum argument of Keynesian theory.

If the Nobel Prize committee had any sense of shame they would request their prize back from Krugman (and from Obama while they are at it.)
