Totally Political

Reader comment on: Eisinger on BAC and Buffett

I think Uncle Warren's investment is totally political. His pal, Obama, has been putting pressure on the states which have sued BofA and other biggies who committed fraud and other crimes connected to the mortgage securitization fiasco. Now, with Uncle Warren on the banks' side, it is not unreasonable to think that Atty Gen. Holder and his minions will increase the pressure they've already been putting on the states to sign off on a settlement that is a real sweet deal for, among others, BofA. For Buffett its a win-win situation, in that he can help his pal in the White House and make some big bucks from his BofA payout, and a win-win for BofA, in that they get a much needed $5 capital infusion and get someone on their side who can influence the lawsuit settlement terms via his White House connection.
