Private vs public funding for Blue Origin

Good points, but my big question is, "How does Blue Origin ever expect to make money?" Space is so vast that any comparison between Columbus's discovery leading to the Age of Discovery in the New World and the exploration of space is utterly absurd. The distances to possibly habitable planets, asteroids or other bodies are measured in hundreds and thousands of light years which, in turn, prevent even inanimate object travel because the forces required to accelerate a craft towards light speed approach infinity -- Star Wars notwithstanding. So even if we were ever to crack the light speed barrier, nobody can live long enough to reach a habitable body, even though light speed does slow down time and aging, according to Einstein's General Theory of Relativity, which by the way, has been proven.
