Richard EpsteinReader comment on: Richard Epstein on Income Inequality Submitted by Fast Eddie (United States), Oct 27, 2011 09:42 I used to think that Epstein was a clever fellow. Not so much any more, given his responses to these questions. Just consider his remark: "...when you try to knock out the financiers, what you do is destroy the liquidity of capital markets." I wonder, did Epstein sleep thru the recent financial crisis, brought on almost entirely by excess liquidity created by his beloved financiers so they could skim a big percentage off in salary and bonuses. These guys created a couple of Trillion in absolute financial crap and pushed it out to unsuspecting clients who had trusted them in the past to be ethical and now found themselves holding worthless paper. Or his remark that the 1% can't win an electoral battle. Good grief. They don't try to win electoral battles. They wait until the elections are over and simply purchase the winners.
