1. Only a fraction of 1% of energy saved from lighting switchover http://ceolas.net/#li171x

2. No major plant possible saved anyway, from the "base loading" (constant) nature of electricity supply. It's a bit like saying, "Hey, if fewer kids go to school, fewer schools need to be built!"
But of course, having 80 kids instead of 100 going to school, doesnt change the need to have a school. And, from (1) above , in this case its more like 99 out of 100.

3. Re air conditioning, using incandescents is of course optional Conversely, it's often cold when its dark, and lights come on. The ceolas website covers that too, with references.
