NYS a hostile evironment for companies dealing in physical goods

Part of the reason for NY State's and City's excessive reliance on the financial industry is that for years it has been a hostile environment for companies that make or distribute physical (i.e. manufactured) products. Years ago, New York was the leading industrial state in the nation. No more. The deindustrialization of New York has been particularly hard on upstate New York.
