In the final paragraph, the author makes the point that laws are laws, even if silly, and that it's fair game for the government to look into violations of those laws. This is true. But, then the paragraph, basically, devolves into the old "shouldn't you be going after real criminals?" argument that cops hear from speeders. The paragraph does end with statements that e-book prices are lower and entry barriers are few, but I'm not sure what that has to do with publishers getting together to set prices, which I assume it what the Justice Department thinks happened. I would like to see the argument against the Justice Department's case fleshed-out a little more.

For example, since this is the first I've read of any of this, I would like to know more about the Authors Guild's comment that "our government may be on the verge of killing real competition in order to save the appearance of competition." How so?

Please take this as less of a criticism than a request for more details. I'll watch for more to come on this. Thanks.
