Your nonsensical conclusion

Reader comment on: Ryan's Budget

Mr. Stoll, in para. #8 of your piece in the NY Sun you say that voters "might as well choose the Democrats because Mr. Ryan's plan doesn't offer a clearly contrasting or attractive alternative" to the Obama budget plan. WOW, what nonsense ! Ryan's plan is $5 Trillion better than Obama's plan and this certainly does make it a clear contrast and an attractive alternative, even if Ryan's plan does not bend the spending and debt curves as you and I and millions of others would prefer. No doubt Grover Norquist would pat you on the back but no rational person who opposes the current horrifying trends in spending and debt would agree that they might as well opt for Obama's much more irresponsible spending plans. But, I must say, you do provide cover for voters like David Brooks who chose Obama in 2008 and now appear so disillusioned that they will need a rationale such as yours, no matter how illogical, to do it again this year.
