I originally saw the line in Politico, and then heard it on NPR as well. They both might be linking to this same source.

Arguing about whether D's or R's have more people in the top one percent misses the real story. Those with extreme wealth have extreme influence. In 2004 Soros chose to use it (to no avail) and this time around Koch at al are throwing their money around. When a small slice of the population wields outsized influence over elections, they will also have an outsized influence over policy. And too often, those policies reinforce the or add to the power of the few.

In other news, I wish you would weigh in on the anti-democratic voter suppression that Republicans have embarked on across the country. Is there anything less democratic than trying to disenfranchise voters to solve a non-existent problem.
