We need a knock down drag out on constitutional government

I totally agree the constitutional arguments need to be discussed in the political sphere rather than the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has done enough damage to the original intent of the constitution over the years. They apply technical finesse when what is needed is a true knock down drag out of constitutional arguments and intent of our founders hosted by our elected representatives. We have too often abandoned arguments that needed political vetting (McCain Feingold for example). Bush left that one to the courts and we ended up with campaign finance that until recently was abridging free speech.

It is a joke that the representatives of our government take an oath to defend our constitution when I bet most have barely read it. And I know they have not read the history around our founding which clearly gives context to the intent of our founders. In summation; our constitution has been ignored. That is why we are in the mess we are as a country.
