A bit of an update futher west in OhioReader comment on: Why Washington Is Powerless Submitted by Lyle (United States), Jul 6, 2012 00:27 AEP Ohio says that the storm damaged the some 600 power pylons on the transmission system, leaving 306 substations in the dark. Today they are down to having 106k out of the 660k who were out last friday still out of power. Damage to the transmission system means entire cities and areas of cities without power, so in Ohio, it was as bad as a coastal hurricane.
