You can see what General Petraeus and the U.S. military think. I think you'll find similar thinking on the part much of the CIA. The simple fact is the terribly one sided policies the U.S. has been implementing through aid, U.N. security resolutions blocked, and blind support is damaging U.S. credibility, U.S. security, and U.S. strategic interest. You want to argue on the that premise. Then make this an issue. If Obama wanted to he absolutely would get the political backing for a major push to Israeli Arab peace! The American people will pick the side of Amerian interest I am absolutely certain. Look at the polls. In just a few months Israel went from 70 percent of the American people seeing Israel as an ally to just 58 percent. 32 percent think they are somewhere in between. And by an amazing 49 percent to 22 percent Americans support forcing Israel to stop settlement construction in occupied territory. Bush 1 didn't lose because of Israel. He lost because of the economy. Obama has not only the interest of the U.S. in pushing this agenda, he will get the support of the American people.
