As the article points out if it takes 1 hour to go to the store and return, (as it does sometimes in Houston for example), then the online experience makes sense. Note of course that you can always set up an account at the UPS store or a private mailbox place nearby and they witll sign for you, so it's not having to drive 1/2 way across town.
