I'm not a big fan of tenure generally, but in our culture, I guess it has its uses. If the Newsweek article were not written by a tenured prof, can one imagine the swiftness with which some lesser mortal would have been ejected from the university for "blasphemy" against the sainted Obama?!

The stunning thing is that, a rather modest claim -- that Obama is best replaced by another politician who has rightward credentials -- is regarded by Obamites as evidence of evil perfidy that should result in a firing. Wow, quite a level of intolerance.
