I stumbled across this article as I was searching for information on negative health effects of matches, as I also recently purchased a box of Diamond brand matches with the CA warning label. I am newly pregnant with my first child and if matches really can cause birth defects I would like to know about it! I would say I use about 4 matches most days of the week to light candles, and this label made me consider giving up candles, but as I can find ZERO information linking routine use of matches to birth defects, I suppose I'll continue as before.

It's cheaper to put the label on all products rather than a stream for CA and a stream for elsewhere. [83 words]LyleJul 1, 2012 23:47
