It is EasyReader comment on: Stossel on Romney Submitted by John Gillis (United States), Sep 5, 2012 18:42 Unfortuately Mr. Stossel has an easy time lambasting Romney. Romney is a classic conventional Republican who thinks in terms of the President "planning" a jobs recovery of, oh, say, 12 million. When will Republicans (most Republicans) understand that it is not the job of the President to manage the economy? It is the job of the President and the Congress to get out of the way, and let the American people privately build an incredilble wealth, and therefore jobs engine. As Ayn Rand said, there needs to be a doctrine of separation of Government and Economy in the same way as there is a bright line separation of Government and religion. The founders understood this, and opposed "infrastructure" and other corrupting processes of government and economy. But today, the idea that the government shouldn't be involved in "infrastructure improvements" is thoroughly unknown and if acknowledged, is considered a neanderthal position.
