Casey at the batReader comment on: Better Capitalism Submitted by Mark Baughan (Hong Kong), Oct 1, 2012 00:35 But the logic of trying to attract more outstanding immigrant entrepreneurs has two flaws: 1) the truly successful entrepreneurs do not need to be attracted and policies to reach out to them will only attract the wrong people; 2) the logic is the reverse of the Billy Beane stategy in "Money Ball": hire homerun hitters and ignore the far more numerous utility players. It is hard to look at our current "net migrants" trend (high, relatively and absolutely) and the relationship between tax credits (the Earned Income Tax Credit and the Additional Child Credit, specifically) and immigrants and conclude that "we need more immigrants." We need less and better government. If we get that, we will attract whoever we want. -Great site, keep up the good work. (I might even pay one day - but not today, I just found it.)
