As a Bostonian, trust me that dozens of Boston sportswriters said last fall that Bobby V. was a horrible choice for the Red Sox.

Of more interest to me is how an organization that could do no wrong for almost 10 years flipped 180 degrees and now can do no right. It's a rare "accomplishment" in the business world. Maybe John Henry (owner of the Sox, hedge fund manager, and a liberal) is too fixated on the potential impact of the Volker Rule upon his ability to finance his sports empire.

... just trying to make the sports discussion relevant to a newsletter about the future of capitalism...
