See the .coms before 2001 for a large number of examples. Here you had the high tax rates, and yet there was vc money just pouring in to very doubtful (at best) companies. The question is investment in companies that will fail a good thing, or should that money just be taxed away as the money will be gone in either case. After all if you want investment opportunities there are the various ponzi schemers out there who will be glad to take your money and eat it up. Perhaps you can find another Bernie Madoff to make off with your money.
