I hate comparing anything to the founders

it was a profoundly different time. By today's standards, anyone owning slaves would be incarcerated. Times change, and so too must our government. If Jefferson were alive today, one would think he wouldn't agree with slavery, no? And if this is true, why do we accept that his views on any other matter would be the same as 200 years ago as well? I would think Jefferson, a man of science, would be leading the charge against global warming, for example. It is a fun exercise to engage in, but about as useful as debating whether or not the 1929 Yankees had a better lineup than the 2010 Yankees.
