You can go back just two years and see when the division was reported as a separate entity and profit was in the mid 300 milllion range. That said, other media reports- not reported in the Wall Street Journal recap--report that News division has just lost many thousand retail stores where advertising was placed and perhaps as much as 20 to 25% of its business.
