Citizenship issue

Reader comment on: Stanley Fischer

Would there be citizenship issues with Fischer heading the Fed? Often taking government jobsin foreign countries means giving up American citizenship. (Recently elected Israeli MK Dov Lipman had to give up his citizenship to serve in Knesset. I have a relative who served the Israeli government decades ago and he had to renounce his citizenship.) Did Fischer have to renounce his citizenship and is citizenship required to head the Fed?

The Future of Capitalism replies:

The Washington Post article seems to indicate he kept his American citizenship.
