A college president job is basically to herd the cats that make up the faculty. They can't be fired in general so they do their own thing, he has to cajole the faculty to go in his direction. A corporate CEO at least can fire folks that don't want to go in his way. Further a college president needs to raise money like a politician as well. So which is the harder job?
