Should the Beatles have been broken up?

Reader comment on: Judge Cote's Apple Ruling

Submitted by Tibor R. Machan (United States), Jul 11, 2013 20:22

Customers often create monopolies because they choose companies they prefer to deal with over and over again. In their time Fred Astair, Bing Crosby, Frank SInatra, et al. were monopolists (or nearly). What about Waste Management which is a nationwide waste disposal firm, dominant everywhere? This anti-market kind of ruling violates the rights of consumers and tries to force them to conform to some kind of one-size-fits all purchasing mentality. It is scandalous that in a supposedly free country these judges get to impose their preferences instead simply making sure the market operates peacefully! Who do they think they are, some czar or caesar?
