It can be difficult to include citations in a radio story, so I wouldn't fault NPR for that. Here's a very recent report on youth homelessness in Hollywood. Note that it estimates 37% of the homeless youth in Hollywood are LGBT - and we at the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center believe this is survey underreports LGBT youth.
