In the case of Il, do they seperate Chicago from Downstate? On housing there is a big difference there. In Ca I suspect its as much the cost of housing. and if you consider that Fl and Az where big housing boom places during the time specified, lots of folks move for cheap housing (of course one could also include Tx with cheaper housing, as well as Las Vegas, since most of the area of Nevada did not participate in the last boom. Most of Nevada is empty.
