Reader comment on: Tapper on How It Really Works

O'Bagy's "research" is the foundation on which the claim is made that the "moderate" Syrian rebels exist in large numbers. O'Bagy and General Jack Keene (Chairman of the Institute for the Study of War)promoted this contention in the Wall Street Journal op-ed and on Fox News in extensive interviews (in durations of 15-30 minutes on a few occasions on the Bret Beir news program that rarely has live guests.) The Instiute was founded by Bill Kristol, Kimberly Kagan, and Liz Cheney. When O'Bagy's relationship with "Free Syrians" went public the Wall Street Journal issued a staement saying they did not know of this relationship at the time of publising of the op-ed. The Institute did not move to seperate from her at this time but took some action when her non-existent Ph.D became news. And Mrs. Kagan (wife of lead war propoent Bob Kagan) has gone on record defending her research -- at least that portion she has checked.

This story smells of a coordinated campaign to make the image of the rebels more American friendly.
