Not statedReader comment on: Authors Guild To Terminate Health Insurance Submitted by Lyle (United States), Oct 11, 2013 14:07 Would the free lancers plan cover pre-existing conditions? If not then integrated over all free-lancers things are better because some at least will now get health insurance. The same thing happend at the AAPG (american association of petroleum geologists) and its health insurance plans, but they set up a private exchange to sell the policies. Its not clear why the TEIGIT could not do the same. This of course will greatly reduce the workload at TEIGIT, as there will no longer be any need for the association to negotiate a health plan, but only offer the ones on the market. Plus many freelancers may well be subsidy eligible, But the pre-existing condition issue is the big one. Note: Comments are moderated by the editor and are subject to editing. The Future of Capitalism replies: Depends on state. Most of these people are in NY which already had as state law "guaranteed issue" and "community rating' ie no price or issuance discrimination based on preexisting condition.
