I note with interest that the building in question, 980 Madison Avenue, in Manhattan is directly across the street from the Carlyle Hotel, 35 East 76th Street, mentioned as one of JFK's hideaways in the distinguished and fascinating recent book by FutureOfCapitalism.com Editor, Ira Stoll, JFK:Conservative, which I urge all readers to buy by clicking on this handy link. http://www.amazon.com/dp/0547585985/ref=rdr_ext_tmb It is one of the best books I've read in years, and I read a great deal.

The author demonstrates that, contrary to the delusions of so-called "liberals," of the past 50 years, if JFK were in politics today, he would be considered -- and accurately so -- a conservative. While the thesis may be simply stated (it just was) the fascination of this book is in the vivid writing, the careful but never dull research, and, as FutureOfCapitalism.com readers have come to expect, its exquisite analysis of a pivotal moment in American history, when the torch was, indeed, passed.
